Some Work at Home Tips for Newbies

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

I remember the very first paycheck I got from working from home. It was for a whopping $104.32. Okay, it was in U.S. currency, so it was a little more since I am Canadian hehe. The point is I had made money. I had made my first real cashable paycheck. Care to know how much my next paycheck was for? The next one was for a whopping $121.89, again USD. After my first three months online I had made a total of $226.21. My heart sank. And herein lies the problem of all internet beginners. Sorry to be brutally honest here but stay with me. I will explain what I mean.

We all read the web/sales page about someone else making hundreds and thousands of dollars and in some cases millions of dollars online that we become so incredibly discouraged that we ourselves didn’t accomplish the same goal that we (at least the vast majority) give up. We are so consumed with a sense of failure that we don’t realize that these people who ARE making the big mega bucks online are amongst the elite few who didn’t give up after they failed. Remember from the first post…a great line which I believe was said by Michael Jordan “I failed, I failed, I failed..I succeeded”. How awesome is that. If we take our failures and keep them in check as learning experiences and use them as positives and not negatives eventually we will inevitably succeed. It’s quite literally scientific fact.

Another problem that “newbies” have, myself included back then is finding a niche. Information is a solid online business venture. However, you need to actually know what it is your talking about otherwise you eventually get bored of the topic and switch from one program to another. At least that’s what happened to me. So here are a few tips to possibly help you out.

1. Research your market. Go to google or Yahoo! and see how much competition is there, if there’s alot then you have yourself a hot market.

2. Join forums and newsgroups, get acquainted with people. If you ask enough questions, you will eventually find something that people need information on. The beauty is if you have a good knowledge of the subject you now have a product you can put together, be it in an ebook format or in the form of a newsletter, you get the idea.

3. Submit articles, this is a great way to get exposure to your site for free. You can tap into a hugely potential buyers market simply by sending articles.

4. Don’t give up.

Well, that’s it for today. Stick around for more tips and techniques that helped me and they will help you.

I mean, if a 34 year old recovering alcoholic can go from nothing to something within 6 months…why can’t you?

All my best

Garret.

Just like the following:1.Consider the investments you have to put in on your work from home, time, money, effort, resources, whatever it is. There are certain kinds of online business that require you more time and effort to invest than money. Others are vice versa. Taking into account which investment you think you can offer more or depending on what online career you are more comfortable and productive with may determine that decision.2.Treat your products as yourself. You and your products are one. Remember that you chose the niche and the products according to your knowledge, skills, expertise, interests and at times, personality. You do this because it would be relatively easy to sell products that you already know of or interested into. All the works, the efforts, the initiative, the tactics, they could come naturally.3.Maximize your resources and what you can do. The Internet is a free zone and almost everything you need is there for the taking and using. If you need to come up with a site for your products, you could. If you need to develop a landing page or sales page to convince more your potential buyers and convert them, then you can do so. If you need to do blogging to pull in more traffic to your site, why not? All one needs is some exploration and a little more research and everything will come through.4.There’s no harm in trying to have an autoresponder. Visitors of your site are likely to have some message they want to leave behind. This is where autoresponders come in handy. What you want here is to roll up as many names as you can. You could also build an email marketing list through your autoresponder. This is just another way of maximizing your resources that can surely benefit you in the long run.5.For work from home that involves more in the affiliate marketing side or auction selling or product promotion or such, planning an advertising campaign is one major consideration. You can research for some marketing strategies and choose what suits you and your business best or you can devise your own tactics and techniques you believe fits the online career at hand. Either way, you’ll have to put in a fair amount of time, thinking, effort and skills especially when it comes to planning. This quick checklist is just a few things any Internet marketer out there should put into mind. You’ll be amazed how these tips, no matter how simple or basic, can take you somewhere in your work from home.
